Pond worms
Question:
When I cleaned my pond skimmer for the last time in the fall, I found about 10 skinny bright red worms in the filter. They were NOT earth worms. Do you know what these were…and are they a danger to my koi? I sprayed them out of the filter with a hi pressure water sprayer. Is there anything else I can do to make sure they don’t come back next year? Thank you for your help and information concerning this problem. Sincerely, Jim

These worms are found quite regularly in ponds and pond filters. They pose no danger to your fish. Fish love to eat them, as a matter of fact…so next time you find them just feed them to your Koi .
