Fish fungus
Question:
One of my goldfish is covered with white pointy looking things on scales. Some of them have stringy cotton like stuff attached. I have been told that this is a fungus. Doesn’t really fit the description of ich. I have noticed that some of the other fish are showing signs of this. My outdoor pond is approx. 400gal. Can I treat this pond with salt and if all the snails die is this going to create more problems. I have also read about pimafix. Will I be able to get rid of this problem for good and how long will I have to treat my pond? Tried to send a picture of the goldfish with the fungus, but the file was too big.
Answer:
From the description given, sounds like Fish Fungus. I suggest treating the affected fish with PimaFix or AntiFungus.(Check Pondmarket.com)
